Tahoe Mountain Home
Martis Camp, CA
CONTEMPORARY MOUNTAIN CAMP  A main lodge great room pavilion is at the heart of this home that fronts magnificent mountain views. An additional simple gable structure with the living and master bedroom wing on the ground floor makes it comfortable for the owners when alone. Or, for sleeping as many as 20, living areas expand below with kids’ bedrooms and bunkbeds, a family room – as well as a guest wing over the garage – making it inviting for extended family or guests.
A RETREAT FOR ALL SEASONS  The great room seamlessly opens to a beautiful terrace with significant views over mountain and valley on one side and a private mountain garden with an outdoor kitchen on the back side.
LIGHTLY TOUCHING THE SITE  The clustered camp compound design evolved from a desire to preserve a 100 foot-tall sugar pine at the center of the site which became a feature at the center of the house. Natural wood siding and areas of dark colored roofs and windows alternate minimizing the visual impact, blending the home with the beautiful wooded site.
