BRINGING THE CITY INTO THE LIVING ROOM  Encompassing an entire city block in San Francisco’s Showplace Square neighborhood, the architecture and interior design ensures that every dwelling unit, common space and commercial space is both visually and experientially engaged with the building’s surroundings.

PAST FORWARD  Inspired by the gritty materiality of the historic neighborhood, natural materials for both the exteriors and interiors were selected – including exposed concrete, weathering steel, zinc and brick – and are expressed in contemporary and formal expressions to simultaneously be timeless and timely.

ENHANCING THE PUBLIC REALM  Recognizing the opportunity of frontage on surrounding streets and an urban paseo, the ground floor design facilitated an eclectic mix of food and beverage offerings, creating a destination in an otherwise urban food desert.
