INSPIRATION
“Give me the luxuries of life and I will gladly do without the necessities.” — Frank Lloyd Wright
Where do you find inspiration for your projects?
What often inspires me are the client, story and details. When starting a new project, I always ask the client why the project is important to them. Their response often reveals a personal connection that ultimately furthers our collaboration and inspires me. Our research and design process finds the unique story to tell. This inspires every design decision and detail, which often leads to working with local artisans on touch-point details of how materials, furniture, art, accessories and table-top-ware support the story and authenticity of the interior design. This micro detailing is most inspirational to me.

Dream Foundation is an organization that “Gives Life to Final Dreams” serving terminally-ill adults and their families by proving end-of-life Dreams that offer inspiration, comfort and closure. This organization is very personal to me because I share it’s mission. In 1998, I founded Destination Foundation in memory of Jim Poole, who passed away from AIDS. I saw first-hand the rewards of travel and realized dreams had a very positive impact on Jim’s well-being and my life. With this inspiration I decided to make this positive experience of Dream Trips available to others living with a life-threatening illness. After granting Dream Trips for 10 years, Destination Foundation ended and made a final grant-donation to the Dream Foundation.
