I came to architecture for various reasons but stayed to help solve California's urban housing shortage. Between 16 and 20, I lived in eight different places, which taught me the importance of housing stability for well-being and success. With extensive experience in multifamily housing, from high-rise infill to garden flats, I advocate for urban housing, embracing diverse approaches to address our multifaceted housing needs. Also, passionate about sustainable urban development, I believe urban infill and TOD projects are key to minimizing our carbon footprint while meeting housing demands. By efficiently using space, infrastructure, and materials, we can create thriving, resilient communities for future generations.

Mia earned her B.Arch. from the University of Texas at Austin and considers her design style to be pragmatic, quiet and warm.

Producing thoughtful architecture is always my foremost priority. For me, the design process is an opportunity to reflect with curiosity on how we live and what we value, to shape a meaningful expression of identity and aspirations. I aim to craft experiences that evoke emotion, inspire thought, and foster a sense of wellness and connection. At a broader scale, it's about shaping communities, enriching lives, and leaving a positive lasting imprint on the built environment. I carry these aspirations with me in leading and shaping the direction of our work and practice. By fostering an internal culture and design methodology focused on producing meaningful design – architecture that inspires, aspires, evokes, and transcends its function – we cultivate innovation and excellence across all of our projects.

Michael received his Master of Architecture from UCLA and his B.S. Arch. at the University of Michigan. He is an ardent musician raised amongst a family of classical musicians, and he brings this sensibility to his work at BAR.

Lasting impact in architecture reflects my goal of crafting enduring spaces that positively transform communities and the environment. Through thoughtful and purposeful design, we shape behaviors, support ecosystems, connect people and communities, and promote social well-being across generations. I am committed to advancing this principle by fostering innovation, curiosity, environmental stewardship and social equity in our design to meet current needs and enrich the environment for future generations. By mentoring my team to anticipate and proactively address future challenges, I hope to enhance our ability to create meaningful and lasting change.

Pramod obtained his M.Arch. at Texas A&M University and his B.Arch. from Mumbai University. He enjoys traveling with his family, with most recent adventures in Brazil, and hiking in Chile and Argentina.

Design and complex problem solving is a coordinated team effort based on trust and mutual respect, attainable only through open and earnest dialogue. Our design process is merit-based: We believe that the most compelling singular design vision arises from a diverse set of preliminary ideas that are then guided and crafted into a coherent and buildable solution. This iterative process relies on deliberate and continuous conversation and results in design camaraderie
