INSPIRATION / SELECTED PROJECTS

“Cities have the capability of providing something for everybody, only because, and only when, they are created by everybody.”
— Jane Jacobs, The Death and Life of the Great American Cities

What changes do you anticipate when thinking about the future of office, architecture and design?
The future of office will be flexible work with even more integrated use of collaborative technology. Flexibility opens the doors to different work style models and is more welcoming to parents and caregivers. The future of architecture and design will focus on sustainability, transportation and infrastructure, health care, housing among others, opening the door to a new age of design thinking.

Who would you love to talk shop with?
An urban design thinker I would love to talk shop with is Jane Jacobs. Her writings still influence my passion in housing design and place-making and my views on the right balance of density, urban patterns and human scale. I would love to engage with her in a dialogue about courage and observation of the human chaos that often does not fit in our concept of urban order.
