In rehabilitating this 1940s theater, BAR revisited its own landmarked Art Deco renovation to give this vacant movie theater new energy as a live-performance venue for UCLA’s Center for the Art of Performance. Named for actor Leonard Nimoy, the performance theater is now a vital new presence in Westwood, bringing memorable and transformative experiences to the neighborhood.
Within the historic décor, an enlarged lobby, lounge and support spaces enhance the audience experience while flexible seating, an expandable stage and state-of-the-art production systems maximize opportunities for artistic expression. Certified LEED NC Gold.
Thank you to our client, UCLA, and our team members, including KPFF Consulting Engineers, Holmes Structures, Interface Engineering, The Shalleck Collaborative, HLB Lighting Design, Salter, Page & Turnbull, and Shawmut Design & Construction.
