What inspires you?
Music is first and foremost to me. You start with a rhythm, a beat that drives like a heartbeat or walking pace. This framework allows colorful melodies to grow over it like vines, seducing you with its emotions, all the while protected by that underlying beat.
When did you know you wanted to be an architect?
At about 5 years old, my grandpa took me into his little home office and pulled a big sheet of paper off his big slanting desk and showed it to me. It was slightly blue, and had lines and notes written all over it. Soon my eyes focused and I saw this was a drawing of a building. Double lines were “walls” and those rectangles with quarter circles were “doors.” I blushed, as I just realized that my grandpa had revealed to me where buildings come from. If he could create buildings, I knew I could too…
