Robert (Bob) Arrigoni
Principal Emeritus
After a high school mechanical drawing teacher told Bob in 1954 that he should study architecture, a seed was planted that grew into a successful career spanning over 50 years. Enrolling at the University of Oregon, Bob met his peers Howard Backen and Bruce Ross, who later became his colleagues as founding principals of Backen, Arrigoni and Ross – founded in 1966, working out of Bob’s mother’s basement on Telegraph Hill in San Francisco – which evolved into today’s BAR Architects.
